Kano city is gradually taking a new shape ,as the outlook of the commercial hub is turning from a normal city into a Mega one.

My recent visit to Kano was an opportunity for me to went round different locations of the city ,I see what I have never expected interns of changing the street lights from diesel generators powered ones to solar lights .It is a giant initiative of governor Abba Yusuf through the Ministry of Works and Housing under Engineer Marwan Ahmad Aminu.

Yes !,renewable source of energy like solar is the right alternative ,as Kano is one of the areas blessed with enough son light.Converting it for positive use is what will make life more easier not only on the street lights but in other aspects of life.

I am urging Kano State government under Abba Yusuf to use such initiatives in schools ,hospitals and water supply sector.

Rural electrification sector also need to tap enough of solar energy in towns and villages .

The more rural areas are electrified the more development will come .

Agricultural sector is also a key sector that needs solar transformation to make irrigation farming more affordable. Governor Abba, there is need to apply solar initiative in this sector as fuel and diesel are beyond the rich of a common farmer, even if he or she has pumping machine.

Lastly, my advice to Governor Abba Yusuf is to form a Committee that will provide technical Suggessions on how to use solar energy in all sectors of the Kano State economy.
